Support Groups for Caregivers

Care, compassion and community

Our support groups connect parents and caregivers to other Boyer families, and are an incredible resource for community and camaraderie that we are proud to offer. Learn more about groups for mothers, fathers, families of color, parents focused on autism, and couples workshops. Please contact Bill Scott for information about our offerings.

FOCS Support Group for Parents of Children with Disabilities: Brought in partnership with Families of Color Seattle (FOCS), this group offers families of color a safe space to cultivate relationships, and dissect and discover the intersectionalities between being a Person of Color and a parent of a child with exceptionalities/special needs. For more information, please email Gay Burton.

Fathers’ Nights: Monthly meetings facilitated by Bill Scott, Boyer’s Social Worker, for current/alumni Boyer dads, foster fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or male caregivers. We have a long road ahead of us. We don’t have an underlying diagnosis that may be the root of her health issues and we don’t know what the future holds for her. But having a team of people who care about her, and care about us, helps us get through it day by day.
