In-Person Services Update: 9/16/21
Dear families –
Boyer has been delivering care virtually since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020. During this time, we have been closely following guidance from government officials, Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) and King County COVID positivity rates. Based on recommendations and direction from these resources, at the end of June 2021 we began seeing children 1x/month per provider on their team, with additional services being provided remotely. We continue to discern best practices as we gradually work to expand our in-person care options.
Due to the current surge in COVID positivity rates caused by the Delta variant, we are not yet expanding these services more widely. This decision takes into account the safety of our community balanced with the real and urgent needs of our families, and we continue to take both very seriously. Positivity rates will be continuously monitored with the understanding that in-person services are subject to changes as indicated by communicable disease threats.
While we are extremely excited to begin welcoming families back to Boyer, we recognize that everyone has their own unique set of circumstances, considerations, and comfort levels around returning to in-person services. Participation will be optional for both families and staff. Please reach out to members of your service team if you are interested in requesting an in-person session. For the health and safety of our entire community, all Boyer staff members who are working onsite or who have direct contact with families are required to be fully vaccinated. In order to plan how to best provide in person services, a member of your child’s care team will be asking about the vaccination status of the adult(s) accompanying your child to the session.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s care or plans for reopening, please contact myself or Gay Burton, Boyer’s Chief Program Officer, at any time. We are happy to communicate via zoom, telephone or email, whatever is best for your family.
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Again, we take our responsibility to our families, staff and community very seriously, and we are grateful for your continued flexibility.
All the best,
Executive Director | Boyer Children’s Clinic
