PJ: Brave Little Lion Cub Update
PJ, now a vibrant 9-year-old third grader in Shoreline, is thriving thanks to the strong foundation laid by Boyer Children’s Clinic. Supported by a dedicated team of teachers, therapists, nurses, classmates, and their families, he continues to meet and exceed his Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Learning in a general education classroom, he is fortunate to attend a school that prioritizes inclusivity, respects all abilities, and models acceptance when problem solving.
The carefully planned transition from Boyer to the Shoreline School District set the stage for his ongoing success. When it came time to graduate from preschool, that same protocol ensured a smooth move into elementary school, equipping him with the tools and team engagement necessary to thrive .
Beyond academics, PJ has embraced a world of opportunities. He plays on adaptive baseball and soccer teams, has been a camper at Camp Casey for three consecutive summers, and recently reunited with his Boyer classmate, Chloe, at Seattle Children’s Hospital’s summer camp. Among his many interests, PJ maintains a unique fascination with coffee. From bean to brew, he meticulously crafts the perfect cup every time—though, curiously, he doesn’t drink it! Probably for the best!
His accomplishments are a reflection of his resilience and the exceptional support network around him.
“Boyer set the tone for everything,” PJ’s family shared. “The structure and guidance we received from Boyer have been instrumental in PJ’s growth. We’re incredibly grateful.”
PJ’s story is a shining example of how Boyer Children’s Clinic helps children and families prepare for success, creating a lasting impact that continues to inspire.
