This year’s Inspiring Journey’s Gala Auction brought over 400 community members together at Fremont Studios to celebrate and raise funds to benefit the children and families that Boyer proudly serves. A record-breaking $460,000 was raised, giving children with special needs the greatest possible chance to reach their fullest potential. All gifts will support Boyer’s Uncompensated Care Program, which works to eliminate financial barriers that might otherwise prevent access to Boyer’s critical services.
“This event would not have been possible without the incredible work of our Auction Co-Chairs, Jack & Kathleen Kindred and Kraig & Deven McCoy, and the year-long work of our wonderful Auction Committee and amazing Development Team,” Mike Stewart, Executive Director of Boyer Children’s Clinic says. “It was truly a team effort along with the many volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to this spectacular event.”
During the evening, Boyer also presented First Lady of WA State, Trudi Inslee, with the 2015 North Star Award in recognition of her long history of advocacy and dedication to issues around children with special needs. In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Inslee spoke about the challenges of raising a child with special needs, and how she learned to find those ‘joyful’ moments that only she and her family could share and understand.
Generous philanthropic support from the community continues to play a critical role in Boyer’s ability to provide the highest-quality early intervention services available. The Inspiring Journey’s Auction Gala is Boyer’s largest annual fundraiser and is an event you won’t want to miss! Please save the date for next year: November 5, 2016 at Fremont Studios.
