2014 Inspiring Journeys Auction Chairs: Sherman Alexie and Diane Tomhave

Boyer Children’s Clinic is proud to have Sherman Alexie, award-winning poet, short story writer, and novelist, and his wife, Diane Tomhave, as this year’s Inspiring Journeys Auction Chairs. Among his many accomplishments, including receiving the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction and the National Book Award for Young People’s Literature, Sherman and his wife are also longtime members of the Boyer community. Their son received early intervention services when he was just 2 years old.

“When we needed additional support for our son, Joseph, Boyer was always there for us. The therapists and staff will always hold a special place in our hearts,” Sherman shares. “We know firsthand the impact early intervention can have on a child and on a family and we are honored to be this year’s Auction Chairs.”

“This is a very exciting and critical year for Boyer,” continues Mike Stewart, Executive Director. “With the expansion of a new satellite office to serve 120 more families annually scheduled to open in the spring of 2015, our annual auction is our largest fundraiser of the year and an incredible opportunity to showcase this important project. We are so honored to have Sherman and Diane’s leadership support. They are the perfect couple to represent and articulate Boyer’s mission in our community.”

Boyer’s Inspiring Journeys Auction will be held on Saturday, November 8th at the Seattle Design Center. You can register for the Inspiring Journeys Auction here or to learn more about Sherman Alexie and his award-winning work, please visit www.fallsapart.com.
