Inspiring Journeys Auction & Dinner 2007
Boyer Children’s Clinic held its 5th Annual Auction and Dinner ‘Inspiring Journeys’ on Saturday, October 27th, 2007. Over 200 supporters gathered at the W Seattle Hotel for an evening of fun and lively bidding to benefit children with special needs that are served through Boyer’s education and therapy programs.
The evening kicked off with animated bidding in three silent auctions. Following the final silent auction, guests entered the ballroom for dinner and an exciting live auction hosted by FOX Sports Northwest Sportscaster Brad Adam and auctioneer Mark Schenfeld. Sherman Alexie, renowned novelist, poet, and screenwriter spoke masterfully about his family’s personal experiences with raising a child with special needs. Boyer supporters were extremely moved and generous, donating over $50,000 to Fund-A-Need.
Some evening highlights included performances by children from the Seattle School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts, dancers from Arthur Murray School of Dance, and the presentation of 2005 Boyer alum Jackson Angellar’s one-of-a-kind painting called “Living Inside Myself,” which sold for more than $1000. In addition, Boyer parent Dave Crowther presented a beautiful and poignant video featuring another Boyer family, their daughter’s increasing developmental success, and their appreciation for Boyer’s services.
The ‘Inspiring Journeys’ Auction and Dinner was a great success which could not have taken place without the generous sponsorship of Vacation Internationale and the many other donors who contributed to the event. A special thank you to our volunteers, Boyer parents, Board, and staff.
