Saturday, October 9, 2010 was the return of our annual gala auction and an opportunity for friends of Boyer to come together and celebrate. Inspiring Journeys was a great success! Thank you to host Jesse Jones and speaker Sherman Alexie for this special evening. And thank you to all of our guests, auction donors, volunteers, staff members, board members, Boyer families, and the staff of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel for your support of the children we serve. Each September, Boyer Children's Clinic participates in United Way of King County’s Day of Caring, hosting volunteers from the community who donate a day’s work to local nonprofits. This event is the largest single-day volunteer project in Washington, gathering more than 9,000 volunteers this year and resulting in over $1,000,000 of donated labor.

On Friday, September 24, 2010, Boyer was fortunate to welcome three groups to the clinic – Microsoft, Wright Runstad & Company and Perkins Coie. These dedicated volunteers energetically helped landscape our grounds, thoroughly cleaned our classrooms and indoor gym, assisted with classroom crafts, painted our conference room, and so much more! Their work saved our agency a lot of time and we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing commitment to the children and families we serve.

Sun Charities, a Washington based non-profit, organized the Sun and Surf Motorcycle weekend from Thursday July 22 to Sunday July 25, 2010. This was their 22nd year of organizing this event for charity. The Title sponsor was NW Harley Davidson and the Diamond Sponsors were Lucky Eagle Casino, the Boeing Company, Teamsters Union 174 and the Best Western Lighthouse. Part of the proceeds benefit Boyer Children's Clinic and 3,000 motorcyclists took part over the weekend, making the event a success. We would like to thank Sun Charities and all their volunteers for their continued support of Boyer Children’s Clinic.

Since 2000, neighborhood siblings Jesse and Allie Warren and their friends have hosted the annual Lemonade Stand. Throughout the years, the Montlake neighborhood has watched this annual event grow more and more sophisticated and successful in raising funds to support Boyer Children’s Clinic. On July 21, 2010, the young organizers hosted their 11th annual Lemonade Stand. Their donation will help Boyer provide services to young children with developmental delays and their families, turning a summertime fundraiser into lifelong opportunities. Everyone here appreciates the tremendous dedication and hard work of the Lemonade Stand Crew. Thanks for another wonderful year!

Friday, July 16, 2010 marked the return of the Northwest Greek Open, organized by members of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, at the prestigious Rainier Golf and Country Club. The blustery day saw dozens of members and friends of St. Demetrios come together for a great day of golf while raising important funds for great organizations, including Boyer Children’s Clinic. Thank you to our friends and neighbors at St. Demetrios for including us once again in this fantastic and fun event. On Saturday, June 5, 2010, St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and their wonderful volunteers hosted a fun-filled evening of food, friends, and fundraising at their annual Twilight in Seattle Auction. The event is open to all St. Demetrios parishioners and friends, and part of the proceeds go to Boyer Children’s Clinic. On May 20, 2010, Boyer Children’s Clinic commemorated the lasting impact of former Executive Director Judi Moore by dedicating a new memorial art installation within the turret staircase at Boyer. The event was an opportunity for friends of the agency past and present to join together to celebrate the impact Judi had on early intervention, and to pass on her legacy to future generations. Judi worked at Boyer for 32 years, serving as Executive Director for the past 30 years. Her commitment to Boyer and the entire early intervention community is renowned. Thank you to those who attended to pay tribute to Judi’s life work.

This was one glassy event! Thanks to everyone who turned out to support Boyer at the fabulous and unique glassybaby studio in Madrona on April 23, 2010. Guests enjoyed fine wines, hors d’oeuvres, a glassblowing demonstration and a presentation on the important work Boyer is doing for the children and families in our community.
